On June 19, 2020, the Shanghai Stock Exchange unveiled the constituent list for the STAR 50 Index (short for STAR 50), with Jiuri New Materials—leader in the photoinitiator sector of the new materials industry—selected as a constituent. Among the 50 stocks, clear industry-specific characteristics are evident, with constituents concentrated in strategic emerging sectors such as next-generation information technology, biopharmaceuticals, and high-end equipment, underscoring the STAR Market’s innovation-driven industry profile.

The Shanghai Stock Exchange stated that, as the first index designed to reflect the price performance of STAR Market securities, the launch of the STAR 50 Index will help provide investors with an objective benchmark for market representation and performance evaluation, while also serving as an underlying asset for index‑based investment products. The constituent stocks selected for the inaugural STAR 50 exhibit notably strong science‑and‑technology attributes. Data show that, on average, these 50 companies allocate 13% of their operating revenue to R&D, and this high level of R&D spending has provided substantial momentum for their earnings growth.

Guided by the strategy of “industry consolidation, horizontal expansion, and vertical integration,” Jiuri New Materials has maintained a leading position in market share. According to its 2019 annual report, the company reported revenue of RMB 1.33 billion, up 32.8% year over year, with net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company totaling RMB 249 million, a 41.36% increase compared to the previous year, and basic earnings per share of RMB 2.85. Moving forward, the company will remain centered on its existing products and markets, pursue a global business development strategy, and continuously broaden its product portfolio. While sustaining and reinforcing its leadership in the photoinitiator segment, it will implement a product diversification strategy to actively expand into new materials for the UV‑curing industry. The company will progressively ramp up R&D, production, and sales of specialty monomers, resins, and other UV‑curing raw materials, further increasing its market share and enhancing its overall competitive edge. Ultimately, Jiuri New Materials aims to become a global leader in the UV‑curing sector, realizing its vision of becoming “the world’s premier provider of UV‑curing materials.”
