A delegation comprising leaders from the Tianjin Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce, and the Xiqing District Government paid a visit to Jiuri Semiconductor for an on-site inspection and research.

On September 28, a delegation led by Bai Xiangdong, deputy bureau-level official of the Tianjin Municipal Development and Reform Commission; Yu Weizhong, member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the Tianjin Federation of Industry and Commerce; and Liang Jun, member of the Standing Committee of the Xiqing District CPC Committee and Deputy District Mayor, paid a visit to Jiuri Semiconductor to conduct an on-site inspection, gain first-hand insights into the company’s situation, and address its operational challenges.

Bai Xiangdong and his delegation visited Tianjin Jiuri Semiconductor Materials Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Jiuri New Materials. Accompanied by Dr. Zhao Guofeng, Chairman of Jiuri New Materials, the group toured the semiconductor exhibition hall and the product R&D laboratory, and listened to a briefing by Dr. He Zhengjie, head of Jiuri Semiconductor, on the company’s industrial development strategy and progress, its near-term objectives, and the challenges it faces. In recognition of Jiuri Semiconductor’s efforts to achieve domestic production of photoresists and their associated reagents, Bai Xiangdong expressed strong approval and encouraged the company to remain committed to independent R&D, focus on overcoming technical bottlenecks, and accelerate both technological upgrading and industrialization.

During his field visit, Bai Xiangdong pointed out that the semiconductor industry, as one of China’s key national development priorities, faces numerous critical technological bottlenecks. Jiuri New Materials has made significant efforts and achieved notable progress in overcoming technical barriers in the semiconductor sector and in industrializing core raw materials for photoresists. In response to the company’s stated needs for industrial development, the Tianjin Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce, and the Xiqing District Government will provide full support, ensuring that relevant policies and measures are effectively implemented. They will also facilitate the recruitment of highly skilled, cutting-edge talent, address challenges in the commercialization of R&D outcomes and project execution, and help the company achieve high-quality growth in the semiconductor industry.

In August 2021, Jiuri New Materials established a wholly owned subsidiary—Tianjin Jiuri Semiconductor Materials Co., Ltd. Construction of its laboratory is currently progressing rapidly. The company has acquired advanced equipment, including lithography tools, fully automated spin-coaters and developers, scanning electron microscopes, and lift-off systems, and has assembled an R&D team led by renowned lithography‑resist experts in the industry. At present, the facility is essentially equipped to support the research and development of G‑ and I‑line photoresists as well as pilot‑scale sample production. In October of the same year, Jiuri New Materials invested RMB 30 million to jointly establish the “Nankai University–Jiuri New Materials Joint Research Institute” with Nankai University. Leveraging their respective strengths in resources and talent, the two parties will comprehensively tackle core technologies in the field of electronic chemical materials for the semiconductor industry, address critical technical challenges, and contribute to the development of China’s semiconductor sector.

Looking ahead, Jiuri Semiconductor is committed to becoming a global specialist supplier of electronic chemicals, striving to achieve continuous technological breakthroughs in the domestic production of photoresists and their core raw materials, thereby contributing to the development of China’s semiconductor industry.
