A delegation of leaders from the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau paid a visit to Jiuri Semiconductor for an inspection and research tour.

Recently, the development of Jiuri New Materials’ semiconductor business has attracted widespread attention from various departments of the Tianjin Municipal Government. Following visits and inspections by leaders from the Municipal United Front Work Department, the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce, the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the Municipal Bureau of Commerce, and the Xiqing District Government, on October 12, Mei Zhihong, Deputy Director of the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, led a delegation to visit Tianjin Jiuri Semiconductor Materials Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Jiuri New Materials. Accompanied by Dr. Zhao Guofeng, Chairman of Jiuri New Materials, Deputy Director Mei Zhihong and her team toured the semiconductor exhibition hall and the product R&D laboratory, and listened to a briefing on the company’s progress in developing its semiconductor business.

Deputy Director Mei Zhihong fully commended Jiuri Semiconductor’s achievements, noting that the company’s current R&D priorities are highly aligned with Tianjin’s development strategy and also represent one of China’s key national priorities. The domestic production of critical semiconductor materials is of great significance. The Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau will provide comprehensive policy guidance to support the company, facilitate the recruitment of cutting-edge, high-caliber talent, address challenges in the commercialization of R&D outcomes and in innovation, and help the enterprise achieve high-quality growth in the semiconductor industry.

Since entering the semiconductor industry in 2020, the company has pursued a multi‑pronged strategy—covering photoresist and core raw materials, R&D and industrialization, the establishment of new subsidiaries and M&A activities, as well as equity investments in high‑quality semiconductor firms—achieving notable results. As a result, the company’s “one core, two wings” industrial structure is steadily taking shape.

China’s semiconductor industry has long relied on imported critical materials, a bottleneck that constrains its development. The company regards the semiconductor sector as a key pillar of its growth, beginning with mid- to high-end photoresists and their core raw materials, while proactively planning ahead and anchoring itself in Tianjin’s established semiconductor industry base. Looking ahead, it will accelerate independent R&D and innovation, vigorously advance the localization of the semiconductor supply chain, and continue to foster the integrated development of both upstream and downstream segments of the industry.
